Crowns

Place one crown in every row, column, and color region โ€” none touching.

How to play

  1. Exactly one crown goes in each row, each column, and each colored region.
  2. No two crowns may touch โ€” not even diagonally.
  3. Place every crown to solve the board.

Techniques

Single-cell region

A color region reduced to one open cell must hold its crown. Place it, then X everything that crown touches.

Row and column sweeps

Each crown claims its whole row and column. After every placement, X the full row, column, and the diagonal neighbors โ€” the next forced cell usually appears immediately.

Region shadows

If every open cell of a region sits in the same row or column, that row or column's crown MUST be there โ€” X it everywhere else, even before you know the exact cell.
